Nail Enhancements are a popular way to gain a perfection without the hard work! Personally I'm not one of those naturally blessed with 'good' nails (or a religious OPI Nail Envy user) - So I love enhancements enhancements.... however with the advent of shellac I can now flit between natural and enhanced nails as with TLC Shellac can give the nails of your dreams naturally.
I NEVER use electric files and I do not burn or over file my clients so damage from enhancements is as minimal as possible.
All nail extensions damage the natural nail in some way.... but, like the odd glass of wine.... every now and then is worth the bad head in my opinion! Personally I prefer my nails shorter when they are natural and prefer the feeling of a false tip to my own nail when they are long. Weird? - probably!
There are 2 main options for extensions
Tips - Natural, Whites, Glass or Art
Sculpts - Natural, or Pink and Whites
After that there are really no limits with Acrylic. There are glitter powders, colours and the option to have 3D designs. Then add in diamantes, dried flowers, nail canes and sealer gel coats to your hearts content!  |
I use CND Creative retention + Acrylic system and CND Shellac for gel top coats. I have recently moved to CND as I was not happy with the results my old system provided after they have changed their formulation. I am now getting lift free, thin and strong enhancements.
Prices -
 TIPS OR SCULPT? To apply tips the natural nail has to be cut right down... Sculpts are done by entending your own nail... good if you want a one off holiday or wedding set. Plus they fit your nail perfectly.... no gap underneath or poorly fitting tip
